Philadelphia is the place to be in December 2015 for Shalshelet’s 6th International Festival! That’s during Hanukkah – next year.

We know this news will inspire composers to find compelling ways to express ancient Jewish texts through music. Music submissions need to be postmarked by March 15, 2015. Please help spread the word.

At this moment, we are putting on our running shoes, because we have only a year to produce the Festival and a year will speed by—our metronomes are set to Presto. Everyone has to pull together—composers, your submissions are due by March 15! And, friends—cantors, musicians, composers, donors, congregations, and lovers of Jewish music everywhere—we need many, many George Washingtons to lead the way once again in Philadelphia!

We hope for your support in this noble cause. Please make your most generous contribution at We look forward to sharing more information about the Philadelphia Festival with you soon.
